Researching the work of British/Australian composer Jack Ellitt (1902-2001) through an extensive archive of recordings produced in Kincumber (NSW) following Ellitt's return to Australia in the early 1970s.
The focus of this work is identifying compositions among Ellitt's extensive body of sound effects and field recordings. To date, I have identified two further elements to Ellitt's five-piece composition "Homage to Rachel Carson" and recordings associated with a second attempt at a score for Len Lye's film "Tusalava".
