Commemorating the 1933 landing of Charles Kingsford Smith's first passenger-carrying flight across the Tasman Sea, Don Driver's 1966 mural at New Plymouth Airport was controversially omitted from the art programme in the airport's 2019 redevelopment.

Engaged by airport operator Papa Rererangi i Puketapu, I was part of the project team working with conservator Detlef Klein to develop a project towards the conservation of the original mural and provide display solutions for the work at a new airport location.
